AnaYelsi Velasco Sánchez

Born in Venezuela and raised in the U.S., AnaYelsi Velasco Sánchez is an artist, justice consultant, and community organizer who weaves together art, healing, and social change. She founded AVS Consulting to help organizations design anti-oppressive strategies, build skills for liberation, and ensure that marginalized voices are always at the center. A self-taught painter since 2012, she uses bold, vibrant colors, both abstract and figurative, to explore identity, mental health, and resistance. In addition to these roles, she serves as the Board Chair for the Festival Center in Washington, DC.
