Meg Baatz (she/her) is a systems thinker with over a decade of experience in LGBTQ+ parachurch ministry. She is passionate about co-creating programs that transform hearts and minds and mobilize communities into social action. During her six years as a director at Posture Shift, Meg contributed to Guiding Families, which has sold more than 40,000 copies helping ministers and parents walk with their LGBTQ+ loved ones. She later co-founded Kaleidoscope, a grassroots nonprofit demonstrating Christ’s love tangibly among Queer communities of New York City. Today she consults with mission-driven nonprofits through Formative Consulting.
A follower of Christ and Colorado native, Meg has since called Boston’s North Shore, Brooklyn, Queens, and North Jersey home. Outside of work, you’ll find her discovering new music, traveling, or writing on Substack at The Listening Room.
Meg shares:
What gets me out of bed in the morning is the assumption that all of this matters and that each of us is incomprehensibly beloved. I can’t prove what I believe. But life makes most sense when I assume that people matter, and that my presence matters because it affects people beloved by our Creator.
I believe in loving dialogue because proximity to “the other” forms our souls like no book, podcast, or sermon can. I often enter dialogue thinking I have something to teach “them.” But at its best, dialogue changes “me” – and I encounter the face of God where I least expect it.
