Prayer for a Peaceful Kingdom

Creator God,

We lift our voices

Joining the chorus of wind and waves

Of barks and tweets and roars and coos and clucks

To praise and glorify your name throughout all the earth.

From the high heavens to the ocean depths

The whole creation praises you.

We thank you for giving us life, for providing food, and for the gift of Jesus,

Who showed us how to love one another

Who lived in service to others

And whose sacrifice was voluntary

Extending the pierced, outstretched arms of grace to the very least of these.

Help us to reflect you.

Remind us to pursue justice and mercy, and to act in humility.

Knowing that you are God, and we are not.

And that that’s okay.

Amen.
